12/7 Departed 16:00
We finally left the Outer Banks after 6 months! We originally planned on leaving mid-October to be back in Mexico for Dias de los Muertos. But we hadn’t really met our goal of savings with money, plus we thought it’d be nice to stay a little extra with our families and friends.
Arrived in Charleston after midnight.
Spent the next few days hanging out with Claire’s younger brother Will and their cousin Chris.
Will is attending The Art Institute of Charleston for a certificate in Culinary Arts. He is a server assistant at Cypress.
Their cousin Chris is head bartender/manager of Blossom.
12/9 Will and I got up early to surf Folly Beach Pier. There was a thick fog and the surf was surprisingly fun. We long boarded knee to waste high calm conditions. 60º water here was much nicer, no booties or hood.
12/10 Will lives across from a local convenience store. Him and his room mates are good friends with the owner Hahm-Dee (sp?). His family all needed hair cuts and Claire was the chosen one. She spent the afternoon hanging out in the back room of their shop giving hair cuts to the family. In return, she was given her choice off the shelves of the store. Of course we can all guess what was selected…wine!
12/11 We had lunch at Blossom, said good-bye to everyone, and we’re on the road to Florida by 13:00. Pulled into my Grandparents driveway in Edgewater, Florida at 19:20.
