Taylor Outfall Canal

May 2-5, 2015
Taylor Outfall Bayou was our first taste of “freedom” again. A feeling of relief and excitement all at the same time. DSCN0961We had made it out of the comfort zone of a marina, leaving yet another life we had started behind. As Michael set the hook I re-introduced myself to our trusty 8 hp Yamaha.

Rising with the sun, headed towards our next destination. Peggy’s on the Bayou. The approach, as hectic as it seemed to us, was a normal Sunday at Peggy’s. John boats packed full of families raced past us to secure their spot before lunch ended at 3. As instructed by Richard, we pointed our home in the direction of the back door. It wasn’t until we tied our lines that Michael and I realized we were litterally stepping off at the back door of Peggy’s.DSCN0955

Three days later we finally untied, feeling as if we were leaving Grandma’s. Stomachs full and all smiles, we waved good-bye to the kindest folks this side of the Mississippi.  -Claire
